The ‘City of Light’ has certainly lived up to its haute couture reputation lately, what with Paris Fashion Week 2015 taking place. From the March 4th opening night to the last day of the event which is taking place today, Bullet Blues thought it would only be fair to cover some of the highlights from Paris’ most delightful designer names. So what did PFW ’15 have in store for the world this year?
This year we witnessed designers like Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Celine and Comme des Garcons, to name a few, adorning their best models with brand new creative pieces and showcasing some of their finest work to date. Paris is still renowned for its influential fashion capital status. This is no surprise, what with couture and ready-to-wear concepts originating from such a vibrant city.
At Bullet Blues, when it comes to playing favorites with our spring/summer essentials, dresses win every time, so there was one pick in particular from the French runways that caught our eye…
Stella McCartney’s White Utility Dress
One of the key trends we’re loving at the moment for S/S ’15 is utility wear. Dresses that are actually wearable, comfortable and stylish are where it’s at, and Stella McCartney’s crisp white dress covers all three of these aspects. From the oversized buckles on the straps to the loose and flowing pleated skirt, we couldn’t help but notice how effortless this particular design is, in a good way!
If you want to achieve a similar laid-back summery look for the new season, we have something super special arriving at Bullet Blues in the near future. Our cotton gauze floor-length white dress is perhaps a little more bohemian than Stella’s piece, but both styles are suitable for cool leisure wear. Whether you’re in need of an American-made maxi dress that can be packed compactly into your holiday luggage, or a staple that can be worn for a romantic stroll on the beach with your beau, stay tuned to Bullet Blues’ social channels for the latest updates on this hot S/S ’15 item. There will also be a black cotton gauze dress coming your way shortly too – we adore classic monochrome colors, so naturally we couldn’t have one without the other.
Kim K, who also wore a white dress to watch this year’s Balenciaga show, attended Paris Fashion Week looking demure, but we don’t think she got the memo about ‘less is more’…
That’s the thing about fashion, it never sleeps and everybody has their own interpretation of the key trends. But how else would designers and celebs inspire us if not through global events like fashion week?
